Meet the SDCC 2026 panel of women in entertainment
Danielle Beckmann is an actress, director, writer, and producer with a penchant for creating connection, community, and comedy in the film industry.
As the co-founder of her production company Brooklyn Quarter, her work has been seen at over 80 film festivals internationally. She is best known for producing and starring in the Tribeca Film Festival acclaimed dark comedy short LIZA ANONYMOUS, and she will reprise the title role of Liza in the feature film.
Her directorial debut comedy short film DR. SAM, featuring comedic legends Alec Baldwin and Lucie Arnaz, premiered at the Oscar Qualifying Cinequest Film Festival in March 2026, and is on the festival circuit now.
In 2023, Beckmann produced and starred in Amy De Paola's award-winning dark comedy short TIKI BAR FUNERAL HOME as well as the award-winning horror comedy SAM & KIKI. Beckmann won Best Actress in a Comedy at the Brightside Film Festival in EX-HUSBAND in which she plays opposite SNL veteran Bobby Moynihan. In 2024, Beckmann co-wrote, produced, and starred in the award-winning period drama short THE FUSCOS that provides a twist on classic 70s mob film.
Up next, Beckmann is directing the new coming-of-middle-age comedy feature film AUNT SADIE written by Gaby Santinelli and produced by J. Todd Harris.

Prior to the launch of Megamix, Gillian spent 13 years as a studio executive at Summit Entertainment, Lionsgate, and finally Fox 2000 pictures. Gillian rose the ranks at Summit and Lionsgate to become Co-President of Production while overseeing an eclectic slate of films including the DIVERGENT franchise, which earned nearly $800 million at the global box office, and the TWILIGHT Saga, which collectively grossed over $3.3 billion at the worldwide box office. Additionally, Gillian oversaw the production of 6-time Oscar winner LA LA LAND, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, directed by Oscar-winner Damien Chazelle; WONDER, based on the best-selling novel by R.J. Gillian is a graduate of Yale University and USC’s Peter Stark Producing Program. She is a mentor in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters Women in Entertainment program, as well as the Academy Gold mentorship program. She is also on the board of the Science and Entertainment Exchange, a program of the National Academy of Science, and has developed initiatives with Women in Film and AFI to provide new opportunities for female filmmakers. Amanda Mortlock is an author and screenwriter from the UK and Singapore. Deciding she was only really interested in reading books and watching TV, Amanda moved to Los Angeles for college, where she still lives with her husband, two bad dogs, and COVID-era sourdough starter. Her new novel Strange Bedfellows is her dark and steamy debut about a girl, who is sometimes a cat, the witch she loves, and the toxic secrets from her past that are threatening to unravel the delicate balance of her future. Amanda Mortlock
A native New Yorker, Dara Resnik holds a B.A. in Economics from Tufts University and an M.F.A. in Motion Picture Producing from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts’ Peter Stark Producing Program. After a half-decade in feature writing, Dara dipped her toes into the television world and was instantly submerged. Dara has been writing and producing TV for over 15 years, including stints on Aaron Sorkin’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Pushing Daisies, Mistresses, Castle, Jane the Virgin, Joey Soloway’s I Love Dick, and Marvel’s Daredevil.
Dara co-created Home Before Dark for Apple TV+, a drama inspired by real-life 13-year-old crime reporter Hilde Lysiak, and she just completed co-showrunning The Horror of Dolores Roach for Amazon Studios and Blumhouse Television.
Between projects, Dara teaches the next generation of writers including USC students from the Peter Stark Producing Program and the John Wells Division of Writing for Screen & Television, the Sundance labs, Veterans in Media and Entertainment, Rideback, and the US State Department's Middle East Media Initiative. In her spare time, Dara is active in her progressive Jewish community, Ikar, and runs the occasional marathon.
